Vilken roll spelar scenkonsten i klimatomställningen? Vad innebär ett hållbart arbetssätt för scenkonstverkens estetik och komplexitet? Vilka metoder och

strategier behöver frilansande konstnärer för att bidra till hållbarhet i scenkonstproduktionens olika delar?

ASSITEJ Sverige bjuder tillsammans med Folkteatern Gävleborg och TeaterAlliansen in till en internationell workshop där deltagande regissörer och scenografer från åtta länder får möjlighet att tillsammans utforska hållbarhetsstrategier utifrån ettkonstnärligt perspektiv. Projektet fokuserar på att undersöka vilka konkreta verktyg enskilda scenkonstnärer,teatrar och institutioner har idag, vilka friktionsytor som kan finnas (socialt, praktisktoch konstnärligt) och vad som behövs ytterligare för en produktiv omställning. Genom handledning av utövare och producenter inom scenkonstbranschen med gedigen erfarenhet av hållbarhetsarbete ges deltagarna förutsättningar att skapa, ta tillvara och utveckla strategiska modeller och metoder för hållbar scenkonstproduktion. Kursdeltagarna ges möjlighet att tillsammans förkovra sig i hur den konstnärliga processen förhåller sig till klimatmedvetenhet och utforma ett nationellt liksom ett internationellt nätverk för konstnärligt hållbarhetsarbete.

Målgrupp: Regissörer och scenografer med intresse att undersöka hur hållbara arbetsprocesser

kan utvecklas. Workshopen riktar sig till verksamma i de nordiska och baltiska

länderna.

Platser: 6-8 platser för svenska sökande. Från övriga länder antages 2 deltagare från respektive land.

Praktiskt: Arbetsspråket är engelska. Workshopen är kostnadsfri och inkluderar kost och logi ianslutning till Folkteatern Gävleborg den 27-29 januari 2024. (Ingen ersättning utgår för nedlagd tid). Deltagare bekostar själva sina resor till och från Gävle. Vi uppmuntrar till miljövänligt resande (tåg, buss).

Workshopen är ett samarbete mellan ASSITEJ Sverige, Folkteatern i Gävleborg och Teateralliansen och genomförs med ekonomiskt stöd från Nordisk Kulturkontakt.

Build understanding for how the performing arts sector can play an important role

in the transition towards a sustainable society. Investigate, find and refine concrete methods and strategies for scenographers and

directors to embrace sustainability in their artistic processes. Build a network for artistic sustainability work nationally, regionally, and

internationally.

How can the Performing arts field deal with challenges and conflicts as well as create

opportunities in the transition towards a sustainable society?

How can sustainability work integrate with the esthetics and complexities of the art

form? What tools and strategies do directors and scenographers need to work

sustainably in all stages of performing arts productions?

Aim

In this workshop the participants, directors and scenographers from 8 different

countries, will jointly explore sustainable strategies from an artistic perspective. While

being situated in the dilemma of being sustainably aware in an artistic process, the

participants will investigate what concrete tools theatres, institutions and individual

practitioners have at their disposal today, as well as distinguish what obstacles that

tend to get in our/their way.

With guidance from practitioners/producers in the performing arts sector with great

experience of sustainability work the participants will create strategic models for a

sustainable performing arts sector.

Three-day workshop at Folkteatern Gävleborg in Gävle, January 27-29 2024

Target group: Directors and scenographers in the Nordic Baltic region with an interest to develop

sustainable work processes.

Practical

All meetings will be in English.

The workshop is free of charge including hotel and meals.

Participants from outside Sweden pay their own travels but will get a travel grant

of EUR 100. We encourage the most environmentally friendly travels methods when

possible (train, ferry).
